Brian Volkman Obituary

As an assistant state's attorney, Brian reviewed quite a few cases for our department. We were always glad when Brian was on duty. He was easy-going, funny, dedicated, and very good at his job. We will miss him. Deepest sympathies to his family.

To Liz, You and your girls have been in my thoughts and prayers in the weeks since your dear husband Brian's passing, knowing that this must be a most difficult time for you in your own grief, but also in trying to help your children deal with the loss of their father. My condolences to the Volkman family. I met Brian briefly during a case in the criminal courts building. Brian found the time to assure me that my case was as special as the rest to him and that he would personally handle the case to its end. His partner Christa Bowden fulfilled that promise and justice prevailed. Thank you Brian for being one of the bright lights that touched my life.

He was hard working, thoughtful, kind and one of the best people I ever met on this journey of life. His work as a State's Attorney was tireless and always dedicated to seeking justice for the victim. He was a dear friend. I will miss him dearly.
