Dear Mr. Martin, Joyce, Jennifer, Tammy, Hannah, Abigail and family...
How do I begin, I am very sorry to hear about Brian, My name is Michelle Varvaris-PCA I met the family while taking care of Marty at Christ Hospital.. I know the family has been through so much these past couple of years.. just from spending so much time taking care of Marty.. Brian told me how he new my cousin Dale Borchardt, and how they worked together. Brian shared many stories with me about him and my cousin. I got to know almost the whole family... I was shocked to hear about Brian.. and I was very saddened, I know Abigail was a new member of the family and Hannah,, well she is a doll.... Tammy please keep your head up , no matter what always know Brian loves you and the girls.. thats all he talked about was Tammy, Hannah and Abigail.. I know it is going to be very, very hard just get up every morning.. but remember Brian is with you and the girls... always and forever.. stay strong and I know Marty and Joyce and Jennifer are there for you ... All of you have to help eachother right now.. and keep eachother going everyday... and always let the girls know thier Daddy loves them.. and he will always be with them and as they get older and are able to understand a little more, everyone can tell the girls all about thier Daddy... because thier are 10 lifetimes of things to share with the girls about Brain... and to Marty , Joyce, and Jennifer,,, with everything all of you have gone through please know Brian loves all of you ... he shared many stories, with me.. including lots of stories about you Marty,, know he loves you .. and even when you were sick he sat next to you just praying you would kick him in the rearend,, he said "hey Michelle, if I bend over, do you tink he'll move that leg?.." we both laughed, and I said "well it's worth a try"... I know so much has gone on with all of you and other losses you have suffered these past two years, I really wanted to let you know YOUR ALL IN MY PRAYS.. and please be strong for Brian's two little Angel's...
If any of you need anything, please let me know,I am still working on 8 south 1-708-346-5910

To the Martin Family:
Heartfelt condolences to you in the untimely death of your dear son, brother, and husband. We are fellow parishioners from St. Mary Star of the Sea. My husband John is also a police officer, so you see we are also part of "The Family". My son Mike went to St. Mary's with Jennifer. I remember Brian as an older Boy Scout addressing the younger scouts to stay with the scouting program for there were many things to learn and fun adventures ahead of them.
Brian went to heaven the same day my father did. His funeral mass at St. Mary's was the day before Brian's. Our hearts are heavy this week. I will keep you in my prayers and ask for yours in return.
God Bless You,
Kathy Morrissey

Dear Tammy, Hannah and Abigail,
There are no words that could take this pain away. In a blink of an eye your world changed. This is a journey you never thought you would travel. We silently walk with you and your children, your parents, Jill and Jason, Brian's parents and his sister, offering prayers to guide you and watch over you.
Our hearts mourn with you. The Angels must be singing to have Brian for an Honor Guard to Heaven. Brian is not forgotten. His smile is on his children's face and always in so many hearts. He will always be with you in the gentle Spring winds that blow aound you- the rain that kisses your face and in the diamond specks of the winter snow.
Our family is very close to Jason and our son had spent the day with Brian Saturday. One of our sons is also CPD. We are devasted to have heard the news of such a tragic loss. If there is ever anything we can do, please don't hesitate to ask.
With Sympathy to all of you. The Dennis DeHaan Family.
