Today, Nov. 24th, I received the devasting news of Brenda's passing. I still can't believe it! Brenda was an amazing girl who gave everybody a chance and never turned her back away. I remember after high school I took a summer school class at Harper and the first face I saw was Brenda's! I was so happy and relieved that I actually new someone and that I wouldn't have to go through this scary speech class alone. Everyday she would put a smile on my face, and everytime I gave a speech I would mess up and everytime she would tell me it's okay don't worry, you'll do better next time. And a simple statement like that would make me feel better! I just can't believe that she was taken from us so soon. I will always remember Brenda and always be thankful and grateful that I knew her. Melody you're in my prayers! Thank you for raising an amazing girl that effected so many people's lives!

Melody,

I am so sorry for your loss. I still can't believe Brenda is gone. I was looking at pictures of her and I together at senior prom, and of course I started to cry. But it also made me remember the good times we had together and what a wonderful person she was. I will never forget her or her kindness. My prayers are with you all.

Brenda was one of the most wonderful friends I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Her smile and her genuinely positive personality will stay with me forever. I feel privileged that I was able to call her a good friend of mine. I will miss her more than words can describe and I wish her family and friends peace of mind, in knowing she lived her life to the fullest, in the 21 years she was with us. My thoughts and prayers are with Brenda, her family, and her friends, at this extremely difficult time.
