Bev & John:
Its been a couple of months since Brandi passed from us. I think about her often and remember the good times I spent with her at the SBTrib, Chicago, London and just getting together when she came to visit. She was a very special person who touched many lives in different ways, I hope she is happy now.

Dear Bev and Family,
We were saddened to hear of Brandi's passing but know that she is in her glorious resting place at last free of pain and worries. I know this is of little consolation to those who miss her and mourn her passing. We have been touched by an angel who made us laugh, made us think, and made us do our best. She was an incredible lady; no one will be able to fill her shoes. Our love to all her family and friends.

Dear John and Bev,

Our condolences for your loss and ours of a very special woman. Brandi and I hit it off from the instant we met as adults in London and I think we both regretted not meeting as teenagers when I moved to the mid-west being we are 2nd cousins (or 1st cousins once removed, I always get that wrong!) You know we will miss her and are grateful we got to see you guys in May.

Our love, Jill & Jan

My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. I have not seen Brandi since Riley High School. It was during our Riley Thespian days that Brandi adopted me, a lowly freshman, and showed me the tricks of dealing with good ole JHB Kauss! The best part of that was I also got to spend lots of time with her and I will NEVER forget being with her on one of the most famous Riley Scavenger hunts ever!! (sorry South Bend for any damage ;0)
She left alot of smiles and happy memories with me and it seems she made a similar trail across the globe. peace and love!

To Brandi's husband and family,
I worked with Brandi at the South Bend Tribune, and wherever she went, everyone around her shined with a smile. She always had that effect on people.
I'm saddened to hear of her death. But it sounds like she left quite a mark on this world in her short time with us.
May God hold you all in His arms and bring you comfort in this time of loss. Peace, Barb Allison

I knew Brandi from London and when I emailed her in the Summer she was as upbeat, positive and as naturally funny as ever. She was always selfless and incredibly encouraging of others, not just comedy wise but through others personal ups and downs also. I really valued a coffee and a chat with her.

It was a real privelige to be taught improv by her, and I will never forget the Improvsters learning a dance routine together for the hell of it!

Lots of love to lovely John and all her family.

To come over all American for a moment-

Brandi YOU ROCK!

John, Bev, Robin and the rest of Brandi's family,

I believe that Brandi would look at the positive side of her passing- she fought for 9 years, beat the statistics and during this fight, she touched and inspired and entertained countless numbers of people. The only possible reason that God would take someone so special at such a young age was because he needs Brandi's help in heaven to touch and inspire and entertain.

My deepest sympathies.

Beverly, John, and family,

I'm utterly devastated to hear of Brandi's passing. My heart and prayers go out to all of you at this difficult time. I would have liked to pay my respects in person, but I'm heading to MD Anderson for my bi-lateral mastectomy. I will continue my personal fight against inflammatory breast cancer and hope Brandi is watching over me.

I will always remember meeting Brandi for the first time while sitting next to her during chemo at the University of Chicago. I'm glad we met and were able to meet for dinner in Houston this past October.

Godspeed my sweet friend. You'll be missed forever.

I knew their was a reason that Brandi was always smiling, laughing and making jokes while she worked at the Tribune many years ago. Who knew that it was her calling to help bring so much joy and laughter to so many other people's lives. Even though I worked with Brandi for a short time, a long time ago, she made a difference here and throughout the world!! My condolences go out to her Mother, husband, and entire family as I'm sure she will be missed by many.
God Bless,

Brandi was always the most fun and original girl, the best dancer, the craziest driver and in the center of the action ever since we were kids in grade school. I was thinking of her just this winter when I was home in South Bend to see family and drove past a yard we had plowed into one snowy night, where we got the car hung up on "Plymouth Rock", as she aptly named it. The dance contests we held in her room as kids, where we made poor Robin and his friends play judges, and the dances later in high school where we couldn't wait for Brandi to show up and get it started; so much joy to recall. All of these are the things I remember about her, and always will, and my heart goes out to all of you close to her. Though it has been so long since we last saw each other her spirit will always live on in the joy she brought her friends and family, both then and now.

I was in absolute shock when I heard the news about Brandi. I never thought it would come now, we still had plans for this spring...

I met Brandi when she was working as a temp at PricewaterhouseCoopers in London. She was very hands-on and so we all decided to keep her on permanently. I've always very much enjoyed Brandi's company, but also felt welcome at Brandi and John's home where I enjoyed my first Thanksgiving dinner. I loved our Saturday Starbucks coffees: talking about life or just having fun. Brandi can teach us a lot about being upbeat and strong in life. She has been a great inspiration.

John, I wish you a lot of strength in these difficult times. I look forward to seeing you whenever you are in NY.

Brandi was such a good hostess when I visited London in 2002. She took me to lunch and then the Globe Theatre which I very much wanted to see. She made my trip to England complete. Even though that is the only contact I had with Brandi, I have been with her in prayer through her mother's emails.
I feel the loss too.

I never got to see Brandi's comedy act but she killed on a regular basis over burgers and onions rings at Blackies in Chicago.

I worked with Brandi at the Tribune and we had many lunches together where she made us laugh so hard we would cry.

I will miss her. I actually have her comedienne business card in my wallet. I always kept it... she was a great person and one of the funniest people I ever knew.

Brandi was an amazing person and I am so sad that she has died. I knew her from the comedy circuit in London which was a much better place for having Brandi around. I have really fond memories of spending afternoons in her and John's flat in Holland Park supposedly to write material but we would just end up gassing for hours because she was just such good company! Apart from being incredibly funny both on and off stage, she was without a doubt one of the kindest and most loving people I have ever met. A true legend. Brandi, you will be sorely missed and my thoughts are with John and your family xxxx

Dear Friends and Family,

First of all, Brandi was fun. Well...make that Fun. And Fun is underrated! I doubt that anyone will dispute that wherever Brandi went, she brightened the situation and -- crucially -- brought her own unique angle to circumstances. Admittedly, she and I didn't communicate much in recent years (much to my regret), however the memories are indelible and wonderful: Summer poolside amusements; adventures in theatre; day-trips to the beach with friends; New Wave music galore; and let us not forget our mutual survival through the horrors of chemistry class! More recently, Brandi came to visit me in California, and we made a real touristy day of it -- one for which I still think of her when I see the various landmarks (the highlight of that day may have been a close inspection of The Blues Mobile). I could really go on and on about this dreadful loss -- and how utterly unprepared I was for it (a classic example of not heeding the signs from afar; I am truly sorry and shall not repeat the mistake), but it seems to me that Brandi would find that boring, and boring was the one thing Brandi simply didn't do. I salute the girl and woman for her friendship, kindness and spirit, and above all for greeting the world with a smile and sparkle beyond definition. Much appreciation, Brandi, and check it out: Not a single Looking Glass reference (except for this one). Love, Gregory

Brandi and John met while both worked for me at Palmer Bellevue many years ago. That is something I have always enjoyed getting "blamed" for. Brandi had been hired as a temp with us shortly after moving to Chicago. When the project was ending she came in, sat down and told me that she would like to have a longer term job with us because she felt she could learn so much from me. Who could not fall for an act like that? She was doing shtick. What I did not figure out until later, was that she wanted to keep working around John. He fell for the act too. Brandi, I will always be a fan.
