Bob F. Walters Grandpa Bob's Gone Fishing Dad passed away March 6, 2004 at his home in Kearns. He was born July 14th, 1922 in Provo, Utah to Frank Foote Walter and Venna Crookston Walter. They lived together happily for 58 years raising three children, Gary, Kathy and Jeff. Dad was an avid outdoorsman, expert shot and won gold and silver medals in the Senior Olympics. My thoughts and prayers goes out to Henny and the family at this trying time. Many memories come to mind of when our family lived next door to yours. One that comes to mind was when my little brother Michael put the garden hose in Bob's new car and he turned the water on and left it. Boy was Bob mad.

Our family has been extremely fortunate to have known such a wonderful man. This amazing person was brought into our lives when my father John and step-mother Kathy were married some 20 years ago. Even though we were not blood related family, he and Henny always made us feel as though we were. Over the years they have been a support to me and my family and have created many great memories.

I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to golf and fish with my Opa, and will miss doing so. I will miss seeing his signature facial expression when he would slowly move his head left and right, push his glasses up with his index finger and pucker his lips together, before he conveyed a thought. This last year we saw how evident his love was for us when me and my son Mikey faced similar medical challenges. When he would come to visit us, we could see his concerns through the tears in his eyes and could feel his compassion towards us.

Our family will greatly miss Opa. He was a kind and caring Great-Grandfather to my kids and a wonderful Grandfather to me and my wife.

Henny I want you to know how much we love and appreciate you. Our family will be here for you through this difficult time in your life.

With Sympathy & Love,

To my relatives:

I would like to offer my condolences at this time.

I hope you will remember me. I am Bob and Grace's daughter, Nancy Crookston. Have been living on the East coast since graduating from BYU many years ago.

I remember Bob and Henny at Grandma Mary Sophia's home when I was a young girl, before Aunt Venna remarried.

My half-sister, Jan Nuttall Hancey, (my mother's daughter from her first marriage) called me last evening to tell me to look up Bob's obituary on the internet because in this photo Bob looks exactly like my father - especially with the hat and fishing garb. It's really incredible.

Wish I could be there in person.

Regards,

Nancy Crookston

Barbara and I greatly enjoyed living next to Bob and Henny in Kearns for many years. Bob and Henny were also adopted grandparents to our children Jonathan, Katie, and Ben. I also enjoyed target shooting with Bob and the good people at SLSAC and dropping my tree limbs on his boat. Jon, Katie, and Ben would wait for Bob to come home and they would run to open his driveway gate for him and he would always give them a piece of candy. We will miss Bob very much.
