MONTEREY -- Betty L. Carlson, 87, of Beartown Mountain Road died Friday evening at Fairview Hospital.
Born in Columbus, Ohio, on June 14, 1917, daughter of Edward B. and Bessie Wineland McFeeley, she was a graduate of Upper Arlington High School and Ohio State University.
Before her marriage, Mrs. Carlson taught in Cooperstown, N.Y., and Garden City, Long Island. She moved to Monterey in 1960.
She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Lenox and of Delta Gamma Sorority, and a past member of the board of the Monterey Library, the Great Barrington Garden Club, the Great Barrington Kennel Club and the Berkshire Garden Center.
Her husband, John I. Carlson, whom she married Feb. 20, 1943, died Sept. 27, 1980.
She leaves several nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Betty L. Carlson of Monterey will be conducted Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 10:30 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Lenox by the Rev. Stephen Paul Booth, priest in charge. Burial will be later in Mount View Cemetery, Mount Vernon, Ohio. There will be no calling hours. She leaves her good friend, William Brockman of Monterey.
