Betty Anderson Obituary

Anderson, Mrs. Betty J. Askew June 23, 1936 October 14, 2018. Betty dedicated her life to Christ, and to her mortal family. Betty lived a magnificent life filled with deep love and heartfelt laughter. She married the love of her life, Bobby R. Anderson, and provided tremendous moral, spiritual, and intellectual leadership to her nine children. She worked hard to give her children the best education available from public, parochial, and private independent schools. She was a sustaining member of First Baptist Congregational Church where she taught Bible school and received many accolades. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service after years of outstanding service. She was a person of faith, unfathomable joy, impeccable integrity and great character. Betty is survived by her children, Sidney (Becki) of Goodyear, AZ, Marvin (Terrance) of San Francisco, CA, Norman of Rockford, IL, Melvin (Towauna) of Mainesville, OH, and Audrey (Ricardo) Simmons, Robert, Karan, Lawrence, and Mark of Chicago, IL; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her siblings, Katherine, Cecil, Adelaide, Alvin and Lynne, and a host of relatives and friends. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the First Baptist Congregational Church Educational Scholarship Fund. Services: Saturday, October 20, Wake: 10:00 a.m., Funeral: 11:00 a.m., at First Baptist Congregational Church, 1613 West Washington Blvd. in Chicago. Visitation: Thursday, October 18, 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Wallace Broadview Funeral Home, 2020 Roosevelt Road in Broadview.
