Phelan, Bernard J. beloved husband of Pauline (nee Waydonowski), loving father of Bernard A. (Marianne), Mary Suwanski, Michael, Betty Edwards, Patrick (Tammy) and Robert (Roxanne) Phelan, cherished grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, dear brother of Jack (Helen), Marjorie Steffen and Sr. Jean Phelan, School Sisters of Notre Dame, fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. World War II Coast Guard Veteran on the Woodbine, member of Knights of Columbus, member of U.N.I.T.E. Civic Organization. Visitation Monday from 3 to 9 p.m. at Cooney Funeral Home, 3918 W. Irving Park Rd. Funeral Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Mass at 11 a.m. Interment Maryhill. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated. For info: 773-588-5850
