Bern was an extraordinary man who appreciated the little things in life with a quiet passion... and a crooked smile. He thrived on challenging his mind and became a veritable fountain of knowledge. He knew when he had found the right woman. He married his Kitty, and they were good together. And so were their kids. All of them. He welcomed me into the family with his characteristic calm and warmth. Made me feel at ease. Made me feel welcome. Thank you for that, Bern. And thank you Kitty. You are in my thoughts.

I will carry my dad in my heart for the rest of my life. He was the kindest and wisest man I will ever know. He truly loved my mother, me and all of my brothers and sisters. We will all miss him terribly.
