Gusfield, Bernard D. age 92, beloved husband of the late Helen (nee Gerber), devoted father of Miriam (Philip) Cantor, cherished grandfather of Elizabeth Cantor, dear brother of Joseph (Irma) and the late Edward "Sol" Gusfield, dear brother-in-law of Ann Gusfield. Services Thursday, 11 a.m., at West Suburban Temple Har Zion, 1040 N. Harlem Ave., River Forest, 60305. Interment Westlawn. Remembrances may be made to West Suburban Temple Har Zion, Oak Park Hospital 520 S. Oak Park Ave., Oak Park, Heartland Hospice or the charity of your choice. If Mr. Gusfield is the former partner of Coustan,Gusfield & Herz this firm gave me my first job in public accounting back in the 1950's. Bernard was a great guy to work for and so were his partners.They provided a firm foundation for my future.

I have known Bernie since Miriam and I went to grade school together. He was a loved member of our family when Helen and my father passed away. He was the rock that my mother leaned on and loved. Take care Miriam.

My husband grew up knowing the Gusfield's. His parents were great friends of Helen and Bernie at the Wilmington Apts. on Drexel Blvd.
From the late 1940's until the mid 1990's Bernie remained my father in law's accountant.
He was a fixture at West Sub. Temple. He was never to busy to stop and chat and was always upbeat about life.
He will be missed.

I've worked with Bernie for many years and he was a really sweet man. I will miss him very much. My sincere condolences to all his family.
