Benny Sailor Obituary

Benny Jo Sailor, BJ to most, Mom to everybody else, died in her sleep Monday May 5th, 2003 with her daughter and son present. Her life was a living example of loving and caring to all who knew her. Born June 18, 1928 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Benny and Marie Martin. After graduating from Ponca City High School, her life was that of a musician for more than 30 years from Oklahoma to California to Oklahoma. She moved to Oklahoma City in 1963 with her children and began working for Capitol Abstract Company in 1967 until her retirement in the summer of 2002. She was a member of ABWA chapter and musician union for many years. Many of the things she enjoyed doing was seeing a good boxing match, watching Sci-fi movies and mostly going to all activities that involved family and close friends. She is survived by the daughter, Carol Namo of Glenburney, MD and her son Ralph Ballard of Oklahoma City. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A member of the Northwest Baptist Church of OKC, her belief and ours is she has joined a sister, two grandsons, a great-grand nephew and numerous others that have gone before her. She was more than well liked as her gift of love and a warm heart will stay and be an inspiration to us all. Those that knew her will never forget the loving devotion she showed and the caring to those that needed it the most. Memorial Services will be held at Northwest Baptist Church 3030 NW 23 at 1:00 PM Thursday.
