I first met Ben in 1972 at Breadbasket Commercial Association. I never knew that his nickname was "Buster", which gave me a chuckle when I read it in Elaine's E-Mail. I always found him to be polite and readily receptive to a good laugh and never offended when we played jokes on him. During these past four (5) years, I met Ben often leaving the building at 53 West Jackson and he always took the time to greet me like the big brother with a giant hug. He always extended his hellos and concerns for my family. Learning of his transition was truly unexpected for me. Last I saw he was the picture of health, looking like he did the first day that I met him. My memories of him will always be good, which to many I'm sure I will share.

I knew Ben, Brenda, Bryan, Becki, Bradley (the 5 B's) for over 20 years. Ben & I have been co-workers, friends and his family was my family. I apologize for entering my remarks so late, but I have been Afghanistan for the last 10 months (still here) and found out quite late about his death. I extend my condolences to the family. May God continue to keep His Arms around you all. I love you all very much.

I feel honored to have met Benjamin Piper. His daughter, Becki Piper Hall, and I are members of the same profession--we are both actuaries. He brought distinction to his profession as an accountant just as she does to hers.

To The Family of Mr. Benjamin Piper,
I work at Michael Reese Hospital, ICU Secretary, sorry for the late entry. Although I did not know Mr. Piper or his family. I felt a warm welcome to have known him for the little time I did. As I told his family he reminded me of my father, a very strong man. May God Bless and Comfort you at your time of sorrow.
May you all have a Blessed New Year.
Again, God Bless.
