Pekin, Ben beloved husband of the late Cecile (nee Falstein), dear father of Cindy (Tom) Mazzetta and the late Harry J. Pekin, loving grandfather of Jordan and Zachary Mazzetta, fond brother of late Ann Johnson, Bea Rubin, Shirley Ellis and Steven Pekin. Services Thursday, 12 noon, at The Piser Chapel, 9200 Skokie Blvd., Skokie. Interment Westlawn. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ben Pekin Memorial at The Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000 Lake Cook Rd., Glencoe, IL, 60022 or the Weizman Institute of Science, 180 N. We were all deeply saddened to learn of Ben's passing. He was a dear man who held a special place in our hearts. As a friend to our dad (husband ) on the playground and then decades thereafter, he was a wonderful presence in our lives.
We will miss him.

He took care of us through taking such good care of our father. His constant contact with his only brother (until his passing into spirit) through the years is an inspiration to these siblings. He set a high bar for us. He will be missed.
