Bebe Goodall Obituary

Goodall, Dr. Bebe Jacquelyn of Chicago, IL, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2008. Born March 14, 1924, Dr. Goodall was the daughter of the late Dr. Charles Bibb, Sr. and Sadye Wynn Bibb, sister of the late Charles Bibb, Jr., retired chemist, and loving wife of the late Ulysses "Bobby" Goodall. She was valedictorian of her Du Sable class of 407 students. She earned her BS degree in Chemistry and Mathematics from Roosevelt University and went on to earn a M.A. in Education and Psychology from De Paul University and her Ph.D in Special Education and Administration from Southern Illinois University. After teaching at Du Sable High School, Bebe became a psychologist at the Chicago Public Schools Bureau of Child Study. There she held various positions, including Multidisciplinary Coordinator, Coordinator for psychologists in Special Programs, and psychologist for the Gifted Program Office. In addition, she worked as a psychologist for the Dyslexia Memorial Institute for 29 years. Bebe was an avid traveler and active member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and the Commonwealth Community Church. She is survived by her devoted sister-in-law Mattie House Bibb; her mentor and friend, Milas Stephens; god-son, Michael Turner; nephew, Pryor Turner' niece, Sharman Exum; and good friend, Marian Turner. Join her friends and family in celebrating her life on Friday, August 1, 2008. Visitation begins at 10 a.m., followed at 11 a.m., by funeral services at Commonwealth Community Church, 140 W. 81st St. in Chicago. Interment at Burr Oak Cemetery, 4400 W. 127th St. Alsip, IL.
