So many years have passed... but the memories live on forever
Not a day goes by that I don't look upward and Thank Barry for investing in my growth professionally.
He was an amazing mentor, man and friend for me and is well remembered.

Dear Dawn, Sara, and Jason, I think of Barry daily. Sometimes the thoughts crack me up. Pepe's opening line was a classic! Sometimes the thoughts make me sad. That guy had so much more living to do. He will always remain a favorite boss and a great friend. Love, Cindy Howe, RDH.

I was truly sorry to hear of Barry's passing. I knew him from our golf trips to Myrtle Beach and always had a great time with him. Truly a great man. I will miss him

Our lives pass as ships in the night. Each moment is to be treasured.We count as blessed those moments we had with Barry. He was a wonderful person and a consummate professional.We will miss him.

When there is love, any life is too short.Barry had a way of making the joys of life contagious. There was never a family gathering where he didn't have one of us laughing especially as he would call us the "outlaws"

I know you are grateful for your life with Barry, and I feel fortunate to have known him. I hope it will lessen your sorrow knowing how much I care. May your memories be a source of comfort.

To The Karlov Family, my deepest sympathy on your loss. Dr. Barry was my dentist many years ago when he was first starting out. His office was on California and Diversey in Chicago. He was a wonderful dentist and I was never afraid. I followed him when he moved to the Lincolnwood location, but unfortunately lost touch when he moved from that location. I was saddened to read of his passing. Somehow it's incredible how one never forgets those who've touched their lives with their laughter, smile and presence. Dr. Barry, may God hold you in the palm of his hand in eternal peace. To his wife, Dawn, and his children Sarah and Jason my sincerest sympathy. He touched many lives. Thank you for sharing him with us.

It is with great sorrow that I learn of Barry's passing. From the Days at von Steuben, to his sharing of offices on Devon with Arnie Gorchow. Meeting him in Lincoln Village when he would stop in my business.

To All Who Knew Barry:

I have been his patient for about 36 years from the first office to Devon, to Lincoln, to Northbrook. He started seeing my kids and I would have never considered another dentist. He was my friend and always made sure we knew everything would be ok. Now Barry you can be OK and we will always miss your smile, laughter and great chair side manner. There is no question how cheated we all feel by Barry's passing. I've known him for only over a year and yet his warmth, friendship and laughter is embedded somehere within my spirit as a person and as a friend of his family.

You are one special soul, Barry, I feel blessed for having shared time, space and bread with you.

Today is a sad day. We have said our final good-byes to our friend Barry. He was and always will be a very special person. He touched so many lives in very different ways, personally and professionally. He strived to be the best he could be. He was very proud of his children, Jason and Sarah. His love for his wife Dawn made them a special couple. He is in God's hands now and probably enjoying a great round of golf or nice day of fishing or maybe a brisk horseback ride in the hills. I will miss him for a very long time.

Adrienne and I are very upset over your loss. We have had the pleasure of knowing and loving Barry for over thirty years.



Barry was one of those very special people who come along if one is lucky once is one's lifetime. His love for all of you, his friendship and love for so many of us who were his "friends," and his talent as a Doctor leaves us all deeply saddened.
