Barbara Stone Obituary

Stone, Barbara Grant 72, died at home of heart failure in Woodstock, IL, on September 27, 2001. Following her graduation from Endicott College in Beverly Farms, Mass., she was married to the late Robert E. McCullagh. Mrs. Stone was a long time resident of Barrington Hills, IL, New Bern, NC and Woodstock, IL. Mrs. Stone was active in many cultural and Philanthropic organizations including the Barrington Garden Club, the New Bern Historic Preservation Society and a Docent at the Chicago Architecture Foundation. Furthermore, she was involved in the Formation and development of the Barrington Hills Riding Center and enjoyed the Spring Creek Bassett Hunt for many years. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, William J. Stone; two sons, Grant Gibson McCullagh and Douglas Roy McCullagh, both of Winnetka, IL; three grandchildren, Charles Weston Folds McCullagh, Grant Gibson McCullagh Jr. and Andrew Gordon McCullagh, as well as Mr. Stones son and two grandchildren. Her granddaughter, Sarah Grace Lydia McCullagh, preceded her in death. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2001, at Christ Church located on Sheridan Rd. at Humbolt Ave., in Winnetka, IL at 4 p.m. A Memorial Fund has been established in her name at the Chicago Botanic Gardens, Glencoe, IL, 60022.
