Dear Pyne Family,
I just found out about Barbara. I am Joe & Della Cunningham's granddaughter, Patty. Barb and Jack were so wonderful to my grandparents, great neighbors and caring friends. Barb and Jack were always good to us also. They will always be a part of the memories I treasure from being at my grandparents. Barb was always ready to help and have a laugh. My heartfelt sympathies for your loss.

To the Pyne Family:

My thoughts and prayers are with you, I am so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Pyne was a wonderful woman. I will never forget her incredible kind heart and generosity when my Gram passed.

I came across this Irish Prayer quite some time ago and it brought me peace and comfort. I hope you don't mind me sharing it with you.

*An Irish Funeral Prayer*

Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Everything remains as it was.
The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no sorrow in your tone.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we meet again.

Sorry about Barbara firstly being so sick and needing Dialysis. We never know when God calls us. My mother knew Barbara when she was born and as a child, that was on Federal Street. I knew Barbara from Oak Lawn and Italian American Women's Club. My prayers are with the family. Annette Dixon

We have such wonderful memories of Barb Pyne. We often lost our son Patrick's shoes until we learned to look first at Barb's house. He would leave them there while stopping for a visit. All the neighborhood kids knew they could stop there anytime and she would have cookies for them. She graciously listened to 15-20 of us Christmas carolling and then wanted to bring us all in for hot chocolate! Gracious, loving, caring. She took her troubles in stride and had such a great attitude, bringing a smile to all who knew her. What a wonderful lady!

Sorry for your loss! My Grandma lived down the block from the Pyne's and I was
your paperboy for a long time. When my Gram was sick Barb came to the house with food and cheerfulness. She will be deeply missed!

May God give you comfort and peace by means of prayer ( Philipians 4:6,7) as we await the promised resurrection on earth ( Matthew 5:5) when pain, suffering and death will be no more. My deepest sympathy

My thoughts are with the Pyne family in this time of need. I too was shocked when I heard the news. As part of the St. Gerald rat pack with Tim and Jimmy S, Chris M, and Bill C - we all loved to joke with Babbs! A wonderful woman - she will be missed!
