Mrs Izenstark was one of my first mentors at the Department of Health. She was as kind and just with our clients as she was with her staff. I will always remember her great enthusiasm for nursing and the people she cared so deeply for.

I will personally miss your laughter, the stories of years gone by & the wonderful lunches we would have together. Your wisdom was endless. Jennie, I met you at a church affair years ago in Homewood/Flossmoor, you are the beautiful person that your mom always boasted about. I will miss a great lady. My prayers are with your family for strength during this time.

I am on the faculty of Loyola University Chicago School of Nursing and have known Barbara for almost 25 years, first when I was employed at the Board of Health clinic in Uptown and later as a faculty member. Barbara was a dedicated public health nurse, a leader in the nursing community and a wonderful colleague. She has been a great advocate for students and for Loyola University. She always role modeled patient advocacy and knew how to work the system to benefit patients. We will miss her leadership and friendship greatly. Diana Hackbarth RN, Ph. D. Dear Jennie and Charlie,

I worked with your mom for nearly 20 years. Although, I've never met you, I feel as if I know you through the stories that your mother and I shared regarding our children. She loved you dearly.

May the God of Abraham and our God keep you and bring you comfort. May our memories remind us of how blessed we were to have shared in Barbara's spirit and joy!
