Barbara Geeter-Lovelace Obituary

Geeter-Lovelace, Barbara Vernita Passed away October 6, 2011. She was born November 24, 1931 in Chicago, IL to Josephine Connor Geeter and Emmett Geeter. After graduating from Jr College she was employed at City of Chicago Health Department where she met and later married Albert Thornton who preceded her in death. She was later married to John Lovelace who also preceded her in death. Barbara was preceded in death by both parents, sister Gwendolyn Grisham, brother Emmett Geeter Jr. Barbara retired from the City of Chicago Building department where she was the supervisor of the Building Inspectors. She is survived by sister Josephine Sanders of Gary, IN; son Larry Duckett of Mt. Pleasant, IA; a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation Friday, October 14, 2011 from 9 to 11:00am. Funeral services immediately following at 11:00am all services at the Guy & Allen Chapel, 2959 W. 11th Ave.

I would like to express my condolences to the Lovelace family. During this time of great sorrow, I hope that the family find comfort from James 4:8. It says, "Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you." May you'll look to God for comfort during this difficult time.
