Barbara Beebe Obituary

Beebe, Barbara nee Bliss, 81, of Glencoe, February 13, 2011. Loving wife of the late Christopher K. Beebe III; beloved mother of V. Dana Beebe, Christopher (Jingdai) Beebe IV, Earle C. Beebe, Douglas S. (Melissa) Beebe, Andrew H. Beebe and Margaret Beebe Peeples (Timothy); cherished grandmother of nine; dear sister of the late Virginia Birkby. We would like to celebrate the life of an extraordinary woman. Barbara possessed a wonderfully inquisitive mind. She was a Smith Graduate and a patron of the arts, which were reflections of her ability to enjoy life on a variety of levels. To her family, she was an amazing cook, garderner, traveler, craftsperson, homework helper, seamstress, grandmother and much more! Six of us were blessed to call her mother, and she was the foundation of a family that has lived life on a scale that crosses continents. Memorial Service 2 PM at Glencoe Union Church, 263 Park Ave., Glencoe, IL, 60022. Interment private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Glencoe Union Church or Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000 Lake Cook Rd., Glencoe, IL, 60022.

Margaret and family,
So sorry to hear about your Mom. She was an amazing woman, and i still treasure the time I got to spend with her pulling rhubarb in the 'back 40' and baking lemon cake in the kitchen! I'm sure many people out there were touched by her generosity and kind nature, she will be missed.

Dear Beebe kids..Harriet and I were saddened to read about mom. In addition to being a good wife and mother, she was a great neighbor and friend who always shared the garden goodies with us. We now live in Florida, but fondly remember our Glencoe days. With love, Harriet & Howard K
