Mr. Mrum, as we called him, was a pivotal figure in my HS years at Lindbloom. Simply knowing that he cared and saw potential in me; helped me through difficult personal times that I never bothered sharing with him. He taught me a lesson that I have ingrained in my children. Be the best you can, because you never know the impact you have.

I am just now learning of Mr. Mrumlinskis transition and am very sorry for the familys loss of a great man. Even now his instructions are thundering in my head as I remove the erroneous apostrophe "s" from his name in this note.
I, too was a Lindblom student of Mr. M, also from the class of 1979. There were very few instructors that I knew cared about me, and Mr. M had such an impact that he came to my mind 40+ years later as my daughter is graduating now from Goode STEM Academy. He comes to mind often as I remember his encouragement to join a youth newspaper team and his pleasant humour when he made "fun" of my pose in my photo ID in front of the entire class. We all erupted in laughter at his imitation of that pose. I apologise for the length of this note but we were so very fond of him and I didn't get a chance to tell him so. He was a giant of a teacher.but I can see he was also a giant of a man. He lives forever in my heart. God bless you all.

Dear Mrumlinski Family,
I would not be the teacher I am today were it not for Mr. Mrumlinski. Every month he would come, "unannounced" to do an evaluation in my second grade classroom. He taught me to be strong, be smart, and be patient, raising the bar for myself and those around me. I was even blessed enough to have you all deliver to my classroom many wonderful resources, which I still use today. Mr. Mrumlinski will always have a special space in my heart as a generous person and admirable mentor. My thoughts and prayers are with you whenever I enter a classroom.

Dottie, Becky, Eileen and Arthur:
Although Art and I sometimes disagreed, he was always a friend and there for me. It was his nature to be helpful to anyone he could. If you measure a man's wealth in terms of family and friends, then Art was very rich indeed. I will miss him.

I was a journalism student of Mr. Mrumlinski's at Lindblom Technical High School (Class of 1979). I often remember many of his witticisms and recount them to my students and fellow teachers.
My sincere sympathy goes out to his family and my sincere gratitude goes out to Mr. M. for all the contributions that he made to the lives of so many.

I truly enjoyed and looked forward to my trips to see and take care of Art. No matter how bad of a day I was having heading his way I always knew I'd smile and laugh by the end of the visit. He was a special man and I truly enjoyed his spirit and humor. He will be truly missed. My prayers and thoughts with you guys at this time.

I met Mr Mrumlinski as a freshman at Lindblom Technical HS back in 1970. As a student who went on to develop my love of English literature which started at Lindblom, I will be forever grateful to Mr "M" for deciding that instead of teaching in the suburbs, he would share his knowledge of English with the Black and Chinese students at Lindblom right in the inner city of Chicago. Mr M had a very dry wit, but he was open and willing to help.
Thank you very much for sharing such a great man.

Rum was our faculty advisor on yearbook staff at Lindblom. (I'm Class of '77.) I used to love it when he started yelling and cussin' at us. It was only done with love. He was one of the great characters of my youth. My condolences to his family for their loss and my congratulations for having him in your life!

Dottie, Becky, Eileen & Arthur,
Your husband and father was a truly good man. It appeared that he always had the best interests of his family in his heart. Art had the spirit of a true teacher--to do what was right for his students. It was always great to visit with all of you. He truly fought the good fight, ran the course and now he has received his eternal reward.
My condolences to all of you.
