I can still recall seeing him in the halls while I was a highschool student, often intimidated because of who he was. But once you got to know him he was just the opposite.
He will always play a significant role in my education years. I'm definitely where I am today because of his teachings. God has called back one of his angels...a true educator who will sorely be missed! God Bless your family and may they find comfort in the memories that you left behind!

Mr. Cervinka was the world's greatest English teacher. He knew how to handle a very bright bunch of freshmen and didn't mind doing the extra work to make our class interesting and novel.
He made us call him "Intrepid Leader" and he was.
My sympathies to his family, former students and co-workers. He was 'one-of-a-kind'.

Sincere sympathies to Art Cervinka's family. My last 3 1/2 years of teaching before retirement were enhanced by working under Art's leadership. He was a fine man, with intelligence and warmth, and I am grateful to have known him.
