Art Carpenter Obituary

Art Carpenter died on March 13, 2010.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Strode Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Bruce Parnell officiating. Strode Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
He was born April 23, 1958, to Donald Dean (Pal) Carpenter and Beverly June Fellows in Cozad, Neb.
He was awarded his associate's and bachelor's degrees in business. He was only six weeks away from earning his master's degree. He served as a lance corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Dean Carpenter, and his brother, John Jay Carpenter.
Art is survived by mother Beverly June Carpenter of Austin, Texas; wife, Donna Carpenter of the home; son Ben and Glenna Darnaby; son Joey and Leah Darnaby; four grandchildren, Aidan, Dinah, Donald and Zowen Darnaby and one more on the way; brother Donald Wayne Carpenter; sister Margery Lynn Waldrop; sister LeeLeen Sundbeck; sister Valencia Joy Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 N. Beauregard Street, Alexander, VA, 22311.
