She was a high school friend who I
didn't get to see often after graduation, except for reunions,
when her schedule permitted. However, Arlene was a caring and
quality person to know, and I hope
her family finds comfort in knowing
that people do care, and that in time, heart ache will be replaced with fond feelings of warmth for
the love and joy that was shared.
Goethe once wrote " Life is but
the childhood of our immortality"...
If so, we'll all meet again in
a place of laughter, love and peace

I met Arlene in TOPS several years ago. We were just acquainted at the time. I then became retired and decided to go back to teaching piano lessons. Arlene expressed an interest if I went to her home. We would have the lesson, go to TOPS with Carolyn and have dinner and long chats afterwards.
We became very close. We a had a mutual understanding which included our religions and the cultures in which we were raised. I am a Greek Orthodox Christian and Arlene and I found much similarity in our beliefs and upbringings. She felt I brought her back to music and I felt she did the same for me.
There is so much I could say. We really expressed a strong affection for each other. She was a truly good person. I will miss her. I hope the family heals. It takes time. I have lost both parents and two brothers.
We will all meet again, God willing.
Lost a great friend. Goodbye Arlene.

I went to high school with Arlene and we were the best of friends. As she wrote in my high school log if only the walls of parent's apartment could talk they would say alot about our school years. I moved to Florida and 49 years did not see or talk to Arlene, until we were fortunate to meet again 2 yrs. ago and then in 2005 at our HS reunion. I had the pleasure of meeting her daughter, Linda also.I send my deepest sympathy to the whole family. Your mom was a women extraordinary.

“My prayers go out to your entire family. I recently lost my grandfather (May 14, 2006) - so I understand a little bit of your grief. Today I read a scripture in the Bible that says that God is near to those that are broken at heart and those who are crushed in spirit he saves (Psalms 34:18). I hope you can find comfort in this time of grief”.
