Arlene "Essie" Landsman, 84, beloved wife of the late Howard Landsman; loving mother of Andrea (Igor Moll) Landsman, Nancy (Mitch) Trudell and Gena (Dave) Page; cherished grandmother of Jeremy and Haley Trudell and Max and Noah Page; loving sister of Diane Colwyn; adored aunt of Bill (Kim) Colwyn and Ron, Leslie, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Wasserstrom; treasured cousin and friend to many. Chapel service 12:15 PM Tuesday Aug. 16th at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center (ilholocaustmuseum.org) or Alzheimer's Association (alz.org). I met Essie through my long-term friendship with Mitch and Nancy. Both she and Howard were people I esteemed highly. A couple, though being open minded, live their lives at a high standard. I guess you´d call that graceful and generous.
Though I met Essie in her latter years of life you could just tell that this was a person of classic beauty. I know that she and Howard are now reunited in eternity.
My condolences to the whole family. But I´m sure even at this bittersweet time they are applauding a life well lived.

Our hearts are deeply saddened by the news of Essie's passing. We loved and treasured all the wonderful times we shared with her at family celebrations. We are thinking of all of you with love.
