Just wanted to say how lucky I was to have known Tony and what an amazing guy he was. People always say that after someones passing but Tony truly was amazing. Now when I feel like I have it tough I think of Tony and how amazing he did with the cards he was dealt. I consider myself lucky having known him!

To all the Grillo family, Tony was such a great inspiration to everyone who knew him, and those who didn't, missed knowing one of God's most marvelous works of art. Only the love and deep devotion of your remarkable family kept Tony on this earth to teach us all just how powerful a brain can be, and yet so humble. God help you to heal.

Dear Grillo Family,I am very saddened to hear of Tonys passing.I ve often wondered how all of you are and thought of Tony past few years.I think for all of us,13th Street was a golden age and a great place to grow up.Some of my best memories are all of us on the Grillo patio/Dwyer porch enjoying a summer evening with beers in hand.Taking Tony up or down the stairs, watching him motor on the 13th Street beach. He was a gentleman and a kind soul who bore his illness with a grace and dignity few of us rise to in this life.He will be missed and remembered by all of us who enjoyed his friendship.Tony and all of you are in my thoughts and prayers.Regards,Billy Dwyer,Bagram Air Field

To the Grillo Family: Tony's life was a triumph of will. He defied doctors' prognoses and expectations. All with tremendous support from a loving family. I will have forever in my memory 2 images: 1 of the family, led by Mrs. Grillo, walking to the beach on summer days with kids in tow and Tony wheeling to the seawall and Mr. and Mrs. Grillo lifting Tony to the beach, and as the kids got older, John and Kelly doing the lifting; and 2, of John and Kelly and/or any number of friends lifting Tony up our steps for one of the many keg parties at our house. The Grillo Family rallied around Tony and he thrived. His life is a tribute to familial love. 13th Street was a good place with good families. The Dwyers, MacEacherns, Grillos, and Crowleys, were the families that lived through the 60s, 70's, and 80's on 13th Street. Going to school, to the beach, and each other's houses all through our childhood. We've all left 13th street in person, but never in our hearts and memories. Tony Grillo, RIP.

Tony, I miss you! From the time you were a kid you were special, with a heart bigger than the ocean and a smile that always made things right. The days your mom would carry you to the water to the nights on our back porch and the crooked trips home from the Greenhouse after many beers were some of the best times ever!! I know you are now out of your chair walking on the beach hopefully with a beer and at peace. You are THE MAN !
