Anthony Basile Obituary

Basile, Anthony "Tony" Age 62. Passed away at home on Wednesday, August 15, 2018. Born in Chicago on February 24, 1956. He was preceded in death by his father, John C. Basile and mother, Rose (Morelli) Stone. He is survived by his significant other of 30 plus years, Anthony Norwood and best friend Brooks. His extended life and quality thereof was due to their care and commitment, to whom Tony loved dearly. Also survived by his sister, Beverly Earley in McHenry, IL; his estranged brother, John Basile Jr. in Southern California; his half siblings, Joseph, Carmella and Louis, along with aunts, uncles, cousins and niece. Raised and lived on the West and Northwest side. Attended Ryerson grade school, Prosser High School and graduated Political Science at I.S.U. in Normal, IL. Obtained his Law Degree, and ran for a state representative seat that he lost in the late 70's. He had been disabled for about 18 years, but always had a passion for politics and sports (all teams Chicago). If he could have slept at Wrigley Field, we think he would have! The Cubs World Series Win was a dream come true for him. No formal service will be held. Per Tony's request, close friends and family will have an intimate "celebration of life" get together, in his honor.

My deepest sympathies to all of Tony's Family.
I grew up with him on the West Side of Chicago.
"little Tony". He was so darn cute. We often played together with his sister, Beverly, Brother Johnny and their neighbor Dennis.
They were the only one in our immediate block that had a Swimming Pool. I was one of the "priveldged" kids that was allowed in. We all had such fun. Rest In Peace Tony!!

I knew Anthony long ago when we both attended Ryerson School. I could picture his building even now from walking home the same way. I moved out of the neighborhood at the end of 4th grade but always remembered Anthony Basile and could picture him now from our school pics that I still have; a cute little guy always sitting in the front row. Awesome to hear he had a law degree and went into politics. But so sorry he spent years disabled. It sounds like he was surrounded by a lot of love, and, ultimately, that's all we could hope for at the end of this journey. With sympathy, Carol Varchetto.

So sorry for your loss. He and I had several cases against each other when he was practicing law. Always a gentleman.
