Our heartfelt condolences to Anne's daughters and extended family on her death. I had the privilege of working with Anne at Rieck and Crotty while she was attending law school. She was smart, funny, down-to-earth, and always quick with a laugh, a joke, and a smile, even when the days were hectic and stressful. She was a wonderful person and, I am sure, an outstanding lawyer. The world is a much colder, sadder place without her.

To Anne and her family,

My heart is crushed at the loss of this beautiful friend. We met as coworkers and instantly became friends. Her laugh was contagious and she loved to have fun. Anne was the kind of person that would "light up" when she saw you walk in and made you feel special, even if she saw you every day! She was generous and kind beyond words and a strong woman I learned so much from. She adored her little girls and was one of those "extra-special" moms. I loved Anne dearly and she will be missed forever, but I know in my heart "the Lord IS our shepard and she will walk with Him always."

To Anne's Family;

My wife Julie Smith and I express our deepest sympathy in this moment of family tragedy. Anne was a valued friend.

We will always remember the time when Anne invited us to spend the night at her home where we were able to meet and enjoy time with her and her beautiful children.

Our prayers and hopes go with them.

Uncle Dan, Danielle, Jennifer & the entire Treonis & Bowen family,

We are upset as all are at the loss of such a great person, aunt, & friend. I hope, more than anything, that the two wonderful daughters, now without a mother, make it through this rough time and the rough times ahead.

To Anne's Family;

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow.

Words cannot describe how sorry I am to hear of the tragic loss of Anne.

I keep thinking back to the summers, when we were kids and played in front of her house or in her basement. They are good memories. Memories that I will fondly remember. Just plain silly memories full of laughs, water balloons, and playing volleyball in her front yard.

May God give you the strength you need at this time for yourselves and for the loves of Anne’s life, Jennifer and Danielle.

I worked with Ann at the Liquor Commission years ago, and still saw her almost every day for the last eight years. I cannot imagine walking on the fifth floor of the Thompson Center and not seeing or chatting with her. Anne was a wonderful person who loved her daughters so much. Anne was one of the good people who was always willing to help or just listen. I will miss you so much. God bless you, as I know he will watch over your girls.

My heart goes out to Anne's daughters, parents and siblings.

I worked with Anne in the Thompson Center on the same floor and we talked almost everyday for the last two years. She was a wonderful, caring person - - someone who always had time to listen. She had helped me with several personal issues over the last several months and I will always be grateful to her for that.

She was also a strong person - - someone who stood for fairness. I will always remember her as the vibrant, smiling young woman that she was - -a person who could always make me laugh. I will miss her greatly. I feel blessed to have known her.

I will keep praying that justice is done.

To Anne's family and friends: My thoughts are with you during this very difficult time. Anne and I worked together several years ago at the Liquor Control Commission. She was always so kind to me and everyone else who worked with us. Her wonderful sense of humor and kindness will be sorely missed.

Anne was a remarkable individual. Her life was her children - Danielle and Jennifer. The thought of her brings a large smile to my face as I think about the hundreds of times we talked on the phone and in person. I would always call Anne whenever I had a question regarding Illinois' liquor laws. So many times, before I could get to my question, she would ask me how my boys were doing. We then would talk about our children - their likes and dislikes and how quickly they were growing up. I can't count how many times I would hang up with Anne and suddenly realize I forgot to ask her the legal question. The entire conversation was about our kids. Danielle and Jennifer, your mother's heart was filled with so much love for you both. May God bless and keep you.

My paryers go out to Anne's family and friends. I hope they can find some comfort in knowing they have a guardian angel watching over them. Many memomries of grammar school came rushing over me when I heard. Everytime I see another lunar eclipse, I will see Anne in heaven. When ever I hear a KISS song I can see us playing albums in her basement. Everytime I see a leaf fall, I will think of the huge pile we used to make in her back yard. You will be missed.

My sincere condolences on the loss of Anne, who was a wonderful person, mother and lawyer. Anne and I became colleagues after she began to work for the Liquor Commission. Although we worked on opposite sides of the issues, she was fair, friendly and kind. We would often talk about our children and she recently conveyed a story about her daughter's response when Anne asked her what she was playing. The response was "We're playing CSI". We both laughed and appreciated what it represented for women. Anne always encouraged me in my efforts to attain a leadership role in the State Bar Association and we often talked about that. Nothing can fill your loss or ease your pain at a life cut short much too soon. Anne loved her daughters and she lives on through them.

Anne was a very special friend of mine in high school, in which we also worked together. I'll never forget her strength and determination to be above in all things in life. Although I have not spoken to her in a number of years, my heart still feels pain for all our loss.
