To all the Doherty and Michaels Family
May God bless you and your family in your sorrow. My Mum asked me to write this, Monica Doherty (nee Woods)from 6 Glen Carraig, Carrick on Shannon, Co. Leitrim (formerly of Doherty's Mountain Tavern), Ireland. We were so sorry to hear of Anna Mae's death. Mum has very fond memories of the great times spent when she visited Ireland.

Anna Mae is the sister of my brother-in-law, Jack Doherty, and consequently, the sister-in-law of my life-long guardian and (slightly) older sister, Christine. We all came from rough and tumble Irish families from Chicago's South Side, in which to "blather", especially to do so poorly, was ill-received.
Anna Mae was, from the perspective of the adolescent young jerk I was then, beautiful, smart, extremely funny, and always someone who poorly tolerated crap, whether intentionally or incidentally delivered. She also, in my presence, never displayed a hesitance to describe it as such. In my memory of her, these are constants. I have always appreciated her for that.
My deepest condolences to her family and especially to my old friend and her brother, Jack.
