My mother, Voma Walker, counted Ann among her closest friends. When Mom turned 80 (Ann was 81), we took a celebratory trip to Alaska -- Anchorage, Denali, the pipeline, the inland passage, the works -- and Ann came with us. They were like schoolgirls, up for anything and interested in everything, and we had such a great time! I kept in touch with her for many years after that, even after Mom died, she often sent me newspaper clippings and always asked after our family. She will be missed.

Aunt Ann will be missed. I am so glad we had the time together at the Ox Roast in Herndon. She was so much fun to be around. What a lady. My love and sympathy to you all.

My mother, Jessie (Miner) Cloe, and your mother, graduated together in Atwood with the class of 1930. (Did you know that their class was the class that donated the buffalo head which still hangs in the front hall of the high school?) They remained good friends until my mom succumed to Alzimers and ultimately died in 2006 at the age of 93. They always kept in touch. :) When speaking of your mother, my mother always expressed fond memories, especially regarding their school days together. I too remember your mother from when she lived in Atwood. May your memories of her always keep her close in your hearts. (Hi, Sheri) My regards to you all -

Mrs. Fleckenstein was an avid reader of my newspaper columns. Over the years the kind notes, letters and little pieces of interest she sent me created a bond between us. I thought of her as a dear friend. She was a strong and gracious woman. She will be missed.
Peace to all.
