Ann Sullivan Obituary

Ann D. Sullivan, 98 of Bovey, died on Thursday, June 7, 2007 in the Grand Village Nursing Home in Grand Rapids. She was born on August 12, 1908 in Mahanoy, Pennsylvania, the daughter of John and Mary (Las) Vavrek. She graduated from the Hibbing High School in 1926. Ann had worked at Sapero's Style Shop in Hibbing until she married George M. Sullivan in June of 1931. They made their home in Taconite until 1949, when they moved to Bovey. Ann retired from the Bovey Post Office, where she had worked for many years. She was a member of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, a charter member of the Bovey-Coleraine Women's Club, the Catholic Women's Council and the KIWI Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1967; her parents; a brother, John and sisters, Mary, Helen, Agnes and Margaret. Survivors include two daughters; Colleen Quinn of Augusta, Ga. and Pat Sullivan of Bloomington, Minn.. A grandson, Col. Robert (Janelle) Quinn of Washington, D.C.; 6 great-grandchildren: Andrea Quinn, Patrick Quinn, Shannon Quinn, Monte Featherston, Seth Featherston and Keara Featherston, and several nieces and nephews. VISITATION:5-7 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2007 with parish wake prayers at 6:30 p.m. in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2007 in Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Coleraine. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing. Arrangements by the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine.
