Ann Commers Obituary

Commers, Ann M. Mrs. Ann Commers, 94, a resident of Leisure Village, Fox Lake, formerly of Melrose Park and Chicago, passed away peacefully at Alden Estates in Barrington. Born on March 3, 1917 in Joliet, to Joseph and Victoria (nee Polniaszek) Dziuban. Ann enlisted and served in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) during WWII, overseas in Europe. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, ceramics, and fishing. She is the beloved mother of Susan (Donald) Glashagel of Ingleside, Louis P. (Barbara) Commers of Roselle. Loving grandmother of Glenn (Cynthia) Glashagel of Ingleside, Kimberly (Bruce) Pierce of Lakemoor, Lisa (Charles) Fletcher of McHenry, Edward (Amanda) Commers of Elgin, and Kelly (Adam) Reed of Bartlett. Dearest great-grandmother of Grant, Gabrielle, Andrew, and Wyatt. Many other dear relatives and friends also survive. Ann was preceded in death by her dear husband Adolph, her son, John Commers, her parents, a brother Edward Dziuban, and a sister Mary Rura. On Saturday, June 4, 2011 an 11:30 AM memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Bede Catholic Church 36455 N. Wilson Rd., Ingleside. Interment will be held privately.
