Gene hunting for treasure - Bahamas

Oh dude,
When I found you underwater in a flower power shirt and rose tinted mask - rooting around for treasure from the Sapona - well man that's my kinda guy. Your kindness, generosity, unbelievable support and most of all your zest for fun makes you a best friend a man rarely experiences in life if ever.
I treasure all our times together and ache somethin' fierce right now. Leah my love - all my heart and soul - Grambo!

Dear Leah,
Mom and I send you our love and heartfelt sympathy. You and Gene have been a tremendous blessing to our family for decades, watching out for Mom's well-being as if she were your own.
Gene's obvious love of life, kindness, and compassion touched me greatly. I only met him once yet have kept resaving his phone message from February, taking encouragement from his confidence that he would see us later this year. He may be the kindest, most sincere person I've known.
Spending time with you both last summer, I understood how my father so enjoyed and valued you, Leah. Similarily, I enjoyed being with you and Gene. I felt an instant intimacy. It was a pleasure being with a couple who so obviously loved and respected each other, were inclusive and outreaching to other people, insightful, wise, and clearly knew how to enjoy life together.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, today and in the months to come. If I can be of comfort and support in any way, please let me know.

To our second father,
You will truly be missed and our memories will be plentiful and precise. We will miss your wisdom, guidance, humor, and love. Although we know that you will always watch over us, it will never be the same here on this earth without you. Thank you for all the great memories! We love you.

Michelle and I are deeply saddened by Gene's passing. Words alone cannot begin to express the grief that those who loved him must feel at this time. Though we only knew him briefly from visits at my son's home, he made a lasting impression on us. Such a very, very nice person. He will be missed by many.
Such Love! I am so blessed to have been a witness to a love like theirs
