Anastasios Bairaktaris Obituary
Anastasios L. Bairaktaris, just short of his 90th birthday, fell asleep in the Lord November 6, 2023. Beloved husband of Darlene Bairaktaris née Wittkowske for 50 years. Loving father of Athanasios (Emily) Bairaktaris. Devoted son of the late Leonidas and Stamatia Bairaktaris. Proud grandfather of Ageliki (George) Karahalios, Demetra (Lymperis) Lymperopoulos and Robbie (Tammy) Cramer. Great grandfather of Maria Lymperopoulos. Dear brother, uncle and cousin of many. The family would like to thank Anastasios's caregiver, Florita Parazo, for her excellent care and devoted kindness.
Anastasios was a proud Past President of the PanEuboeian Society. He was a devoted Christian and Psalti at many Greek Orthodox Churches in the United States and Greece. His good humor will be deeply missed by many.
Visitation Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 9:00 AM until time of Funeral Service 10:00 AM at Saint George Greek Orthodox Church, 2701 North Sheffield Avenue, Chicago, IL 60614. Interment in Greece. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to a favorite charity would be appreciated. Arrangements by Memory Eternal Funeral Directors, Ltd. (847) 375-0095.
