America Canterbury Obituary

CANTERBURY America B. Canterbury, 87 of Callahan, passed away Sat. at her residence. Mrs. Canterbury was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband Jess Canterbury (1977), and her son Riley Canterbury (2003), as well as well as 2 grandsons Charles Pike Jr. (2004), and David Yarber (1998). Survivors include 4 daughters JoAnn (Charles) Pike and Jessie (Audrey) Meadows both of Callahan, Geneva Marie Green of Olustee, Fl. and Carolyn Sue McCumber of Brunswick, Ga. 2 sons Donald (Janine) Canterbury & Billy (Sharon) Canterbury, both of Callahan and a daughter-in-law Pricilla Canterbury of St. George, Ga. Mrs. Canterbury is also survived by 2 sisters Georgia Dean & Bama Payton of West Virginia, and Ward Browning of Live Oak, Fl. 15 Grandchildren and numerous Great and Great Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Mon. 6/6/05 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Callahan Funeral Home with Funeral Services also in the Chapel on Tues. 6/7/05 @ 2 p.m. with interment in Verdie Cemetery, Bryceville, Fl.
