Dear Aunt Alyce,
Arriving at New York Harbor, aboard the Liner “Ile de France” on August 15th, 1955, you saw the Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World.
Her diadem, emblem of dignity, forms a halo of seven rays evoquing the sun and the seven seas and continents, and her torch shines on all humans in brotherhood.
Your inspiration was radiant to design dresses bringing to light women from the whole world.
Be at peace Alyce,
Lady Liberty in New York
is draped in rainbow.
You're in my heart always.
Your dear niece Marie Hamm, and the french daughter of Jean Paul Hamm.

Our family is so sorry to hear of Alyce's passing.
She was my mother, Lynn Schultz's, dearest friend. They were two elegant ladies.
My mother met Alyce when she was wearing one of Alyce's beaded gowns at a dinner dance.
Alyce came up and introduced herself, and they became the best of friends after that
Whether they were out at a dinner party or just having a simple dinner at Alyce's home, they were often together and shared many wonderful years.
