To the Schachtel family,
My deepest condolenses for your family's and the worlds lose of "ACE" I had the great pleasure of knowing this wonderful man for a little over 25 years. All he talked about was his family and how proud he was of each and everyone of you. No matter were you went with Ace he new somebody or new the town they were from, he had the worst golf swing imaginable, but always managed too hit the ball, and had a great time doing it. I learned so much from Ace about life as many did that took the time to listen to his subbliminal messages, once you saw past the crazy clothes and the food stains on his shirt and the oversized wristwatches, there was Al, by far the nicest, kindest man anyone would be proud too know and ACE I was very proud to be your friend, We will miss you, but find peace in knowing that you are now screwing up every golfer's swing in Heaven. Till we meet again,
your friend, JC

To the Schachtel and Gray Families
I am so very, very sorry for your loss. I will always remember Mike's Grandpa for exactly what you wrote in his obituary--that infectious smile and love of life. I feel very fortunate to have met him--plus I'll always remember how my Dad's medallion saved his life when Alvin hit him in the chest with a golf ball! I was out of town for the funeral and shiva or I would have been there with you all. Take care and know that I am thinking of you. All my love, Leslee Cohen

Robin, Susan, Joel and Richard,
It is with deepest sympathy that I send you my condolences. Al will always be remembered fondly by me -- his sense of humor, laugh lines, love of life and those in it. I hope for this to be a healing time for you, Robin, and know that others share your loss.

Robin, so sorry to hear about your father's passing. I will never forget him, one of a kind. Our trip to Florida to visit him is one of my fondest memories (remember the thermostat). May he rest. All the best to you and your family.

To the Schachtel/Gray families-
I remember your Papa Ace from way back when I worked in Joel's studio. He was a neat man back then with a presence you could never forget. Now that I have a relationship with many of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren I know what an important part of your family he was. Please accept my sincere condolences to all of you.

I don't know if you will remember me Susan, but my name is Hope Stark (Bandalin). We were girlfriends way back when we were very young children. I saw your Father's name in the obits and just wanted to express my condolences. I remember your Mother and Father so very well while growing up on North Shore in Chicago. I actually even remember your grandparents and your Uncle Morton. I have always wondered what has happend to your through the years. Please accept my sincere condolence.
