Alphonse Groch Obituary

Groch, Alphonse "Al" age 82, of Plainfield, IL died Friday, April 14, 2006. Born November 21, 1923, the son of the late Walter and Bernice Groch, beloved husband of 57 years of Dolores, loving father of Kathy Maher, Sharon (Barry) Lifschultz, Jeff (C. Cerise) Groch, Jon (Nancy) Groch, dear grandfather of Kimberly, Jennifer (Chris), Jason, Jacob, Jonathan Jr., Gemma, Cameron and Renee, cherished great-grandfather of Alexander and Meryn, fond brother of Dolores Bogenski and the late Gabriel, Frances, Charlotte, Genevieve, Frieda, Clemence, Marion and his twin Julian. Al was an accountant for 58 years, served in the US Army and was a devoted family man. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 19, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary Immaculate Church, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield, IL, with interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, IL. Visitation Tuesday, April 18, from 3 to 8 p.m., at Overman-Jones Funeral Home, 309 Joliet Road (corner of Rt. 30 & 59), Plainfield, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Misericordia, 6300 N. I had the pleasure of knowing Al since 1989, the year he "retired". I had many pleasant conversations with him, especially about his Grandchildren & Great-grandchildren. He was so proud of them. Please accept my deepest sympathy.
