I remember Al as the kingpin of the family and a man of great character and humor. It is my regret that I have not been able to have been closer to all of you in recent years.

I apologise for not having been able to be with you for this very solemn occasion, but have just started to receive radiotherapy treatments for my prostate cancer.

To The Tomasik's,

You probably did not know the "other side" of Al, the "police side". Al was an extremely dedicated, hardworking, and loyal police officer, that always put others in front of himself. He was not a selfish individual, and was liked by many. Al served the citizens of Chicago with the pride and respect that he had sworn an oath to uphold. Al will be missed and Al will never be forgotten.
