Bland, Alice Marie

Alice Marie Bland (Bonhart), of Chicago, IL passed from this life into eternal life at Aperion Care rehabilitation center in Forest Park, IL, on Friday, May 14, 2021. Alice, the firstborn child of Albert Sr. and Christine Bonhart (Morris), was born on March 25, 1933. The oldest of five siblings, Alice grew up on the West side of Chicago with her brothers and sisters: Albert Bonhart, Jr., Delores Blackburn, Joanne Chandler and Dennis Bonhart. She graduated from McKinley High School and later moved to the Chatham neighborhood. Alice was united in holy matrimony to Foster Bland and to this union, their son, Michael was born. Alice had a long and fulfilling career with the State of Illinois and retired after 30 years of service in 1990. She was a member of New Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, in Chicago, IL where she confessed her faith in Christ. Alice had a passion for traveling and, over the years, took many trips with her mother, sisters and the Good Shephard traveling group. Alice was a true fashionista and loved to dress in the latest styles. She truly had a flair for dressing fashionably and shopping was her favorite pastime. Alice was preceded in death by her son Michael Bland, her parents, Albert Sr. & Christine Bonhart and her brother, Albert Bonhart, Jr. (Vicella). She leaves to cherish her memories: sisters Delores Blackburn (Felton), Joanne Chandler, brother Dennis Bonhart, sister-in-law, Vicella Bonhart and Ora Dee Bonhart-Willams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
