Alfred Almond Obituary

Alfred Howard Almond, 91, of Mine Run, died December 21, 2004, at Mary Washington Hospital. He was born April 12, 1913, in Spotsylvania. Mr. Almond served his country in the United States Army in World War II and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Rhoadesville. Two sons, Jodie and Roger Almond, preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, Laura Elizabeth Almond, a son, Alfred Rixey Almond and wife, Betty, of Mine Run and a daughter, Beverly Jean Almond, all of Mine Run and significant other, Tom Evans, of Olney; a brother, Al Almond, of Spotsylvania; a sister, Marie Eunis, of Tampa, Florida; three grandchildren, Roger Almond and wife, Deanna, and Renee Almond, all of Mine Run and Glen Almond of Keller, Texas and two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Ryan. A funeral service was held at Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove, on Friday, December 24, with the Rev. Lou Ann Frederick officiating. Interment followed in Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery, Rhoadesville. Memorial contributions may be made to Mine Run Volunteer Fire Company, 31077 Old Plank Road, Mine Run, Virginia 22508 or Salem United Methodist Church, 28123 Constitution Highway, Rhoadesville, Virginia 22542.
