Alexander Silgalis Obituary
Alexander M. Silgalis, age 87, of Brookfield, IL, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022, at Cantata Skilled Rehab Center in Brookfield, IL. He is survived by his loving wife Zivile (nee Numgaudas); two loving sons Alexander V. (Jaime Pirozzi) of South Lake Tahoe and Vytenis and loving granddaughter Viktorija of Westmont; brother, Emil (Erika) Silgalis of Oak Lawn, IL; two sisters, Olga (Phillip) Connor of Chicago and Erika (Mike) Gehle of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by loving father and mother, Alexander and Auguste Silgalis, and cherished brother John Silgalis. Wake will be held on Friday, October 7th, from 4 to 8 p.m. Friends may call at Kosary Funeral Home 9837 S. Kedzie Ave., Evergreen Park, IL; Prayer Service 6:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 8th, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9000 S. Menard, Oak Lawn, Illinois, with Pastor Valdas Ausra officiating, lying in state from 10-11am. Burial directly afterward at Bethania Cemetery, 7701 Archer Ave, Justice, IL. Alexander Silgalis was retired from a long and distinguished career in systems programming from a variety of private, public, and governmental organizations. Alexander immigrated to the United States from Lithuania in 1950 with his family. He enjoyed spending time fixing electronics, volunteering and helping his wife at Conrady Junior High, with his family, and traveling. In lieu of flowers, donations in his loving memory may be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and many friends.
