Bernard Flynn Obituary

Bernard F. Flynn enjoyed New England sports; 82 Fitchburg Bernard F. "Bunny" Flynn Sr., 82, died Monday May 19,2008 at home surrounded by his loving family. Bernard was born on June 16, 1925 in Fitchburg, the son of Michael and Margaret (O'Brien) Flynn. He attended St. Bernard's High School in Fitchburg, he served his nation with the United States Navy, and worked as a paper maker for Crocker Tech, formerly Weyhouser Paper Company, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the British American Club for 61 years, and was past President, the VFW in Westminster, American Legion Post 149, a member of the Marconi Club, and Ashburnham Legion Post 142. He also enjoyed New England sports, especially the Boston Red Sox, the Celtics, and the Patriots. He was predeceased by five brothers, Harold, Joseph, Marshall, Thomas, and Leo Flynn. Bernard leaves his wife Joan (Cochran) Rogers-Flynn; two sons, Mickey Rogers and his wife Pamela, of Ashburnham, Bernard F. "Bunzo" Flynn Jr. and his companion Cindy Gerard, of Fitchburg; a daughter, Rhonda Phelps and her husband Ralph, of Lunenburg; a brother, John P. Flynn, of Westminster; twelve grand-children, Kristin Mathieu, Brooke Dufresne, Ashley Piro, Cpl. Christopher Phelps (USMC), Stephanie Rogers, Michael Rogers, Jessica Rogers, Sabrina Flynn, Samantha Flynn, Shanna Flynn, Sara Flynn, and Lynn Hebert; four great-grandchildren, Christian Dufresne, Alexander Mathieu, Kyle Rogers, and Brett Malo. FLYNN The funeral will be held on Thursday, May 22, with a service at 10 am in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg. Burial will be in The Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery, Winchendon, MA. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm.
