Aldona was my next-door neighbor for 10 years in Daytona Beach. She welcomed my husband and me to the condominium by serving us fresh, warm whole-grain bread; thereafter she treated us with respect and affection, and even after my husband died and I moved away, she called to say that she missed me and she was still reading the little book of promises from the Holy Bible that I gave her. I am saddened by her passing and send condolences to her cousins, especially to Marija Kincius, who visited her as often as she could.
