Dad (and Mom)

It's been 18 years since your passing . . . in some ways it seems so very long ago, in others it seems like a blink of the eye!

Just re-read the memories posted back then . . . very eloquent . . . if I say so myself!

The last message was written by Patty Letourneau Alberts . . . her son was recently ordained a priest . . . five of us attended the ordination . . . yes, even Marty!

Know that we think of you and Mom regularly . . . please watch over our extended family . . . your prayers and intercession are greatly appreciated!

Love,

Marty, Judy & Jen

Grandpa we miss you a million times infinity, but we know that you are in a much better place, and spreading lots of love and wisdom. Your time here was done, and you did all the things you needed to and now God needs you in Heaven--how awesome! We just want you to know with every Cubs game you watched and how much of a fan you were, you too had your own fans--9 children, 21 grandchildren, 2 great grand-children, and an amazing wife(she cracks us up, OH BEANS)!

Love always

Although I am not a blood relative, I feel compelled to express my feelings about Dad. He always made me feel I was a part of the family even when I wouldn't have wanted myself as a son-in-law!

I always enjoyed talking to him because what you saw was what you got, no hidden agendas, malice and never a bad word to say about anyone. I felt he was truly that rarest of human beings, a truly decent, honest man. He truly set an example for me as to what a father and husband should be. He always said he was going straight to heaven when he died, and I believe him!

Hey Dad, it's Mary Ann.

We gave you what maybe 10 whole minutes to go on to the next life without us present and again you showed us the importance of family and how important it is for us to be there for each other. Thank you for that final gift. It was good "therapy" looking at pictures at Al & Lisa's house and seeing that you and Mom really were happy together--unfortunately with all the day to day stuff sometimes I think I may have missed that. Wasn't Michael's eulogy great -- funny yet very heartwarming. We will miss you terribly. Hope you know you how much were/are loved. We ask God to look over Mom and give her what she needs to handle whatever life has in store for her here on this earth without you.

Love Mary Ann

Daddy, Since I became a parent, and with each day that passes, my understanding of being a parent grows. Each day brings a new challenge and a new worry if you have done the right thing for your children. I can only hope that I can make you as proud of me as I am that you are my father. You always gave so much to all of us and so little for you and Ma. We taught us that family comes first and I hope you know it has always been important to me and that will never change. God sent a great man to this earth and now has brought you home. "I'll see you in my dreams." Love you now and forever, Lucy

Dad

We know you've been tired for a very long time and that you stayed for all of us.

Thank you for letting us have the honor of being present as you passed.

Thank you, too, for asking God for the beautiful sunset. You lit the skies as you lit all of our lives!

We love you,

Marty, Judy & Jennifer

Patty Alberts (Letourneau)

I am the youngest daughter of the late Mary Letourneau, Concetta's best friend. I have fond memories of Al as a child when my mom would bring me to their house on 71st and Springfield. I remember going over the Pulaski bridge and looking at the roof of their house. I remember Al as being very kind and gentle. My mom always spoke very highly of him. Also, when my mom was sick Al and Concetta would visit every week. It meant a lot to my sisters and I to see them. Al, Concetta and all of their children and grandchildren are in my prayers.
