I thank God that I had the opportunity to meet and share an office with Alan, got to talk about life, shared sad stories, funny stories, and most importantly he got to know my sisters. He was always so positive and always looked at the bright side, even if he felt defeated. I will always remember you Alan Nunez and truly love you like a brother.

Alan and I were hired together the same year at ETHS which has a very "class of" feeling, particularly with Alan. He was one of the most exuberant people I´d encountered and so appreciated the energy he brought to any space. He was excited about what he did and he wasn´t afraid to display that excitement which helps energize those around him. What an amazing soul, Alan will be so missed. All of my love to his family and friends on this terrible loss.

I had the opportunity to start teaching with and get to know Alan at ETHS 4 years ago. Alan was always an emphatetic, energetic, and motivational person. His students used to tell me that they wanted to get off their butts and exercise because of him! As a colleague I was constantly learning from him. His racial equity work and thoughts were always enlightening, and I wish I could thank him now for helping me to improve as an educator and person. The world has truly lost an amazing person, but he has definitely left a positive impression.

I worked with Alan at ETHS, we started the same year. There was something very special in his presence which brought light and positive energy into any room he stepped foot in. Alan listened attentively and cared deeply. He was one of a kind! I feel very fortunate to have gotten the chance to know him. May his light continue to shine in those he met along the way. My prayers are with Alan and his family.
