Aglaia Cincotta Obituary

A thought goes to Gale's family;in my short tenure at the Council it became apparent what a champion she was.I will correct myself since there is little dout her struggle will be continued by those she touched.

Great challenges seek leaders of comparable measure. We were blessed that our communities found Gale. She gave us intelligence, fortitude, pragmaticism and a compelling vision of what remained in neighborhoods even after they'd been "disinvested." Her work illuminated and created great possibilities all across the country. And while she will be missed by many for a long time, she will remain a great pillar for an even longer time by many more.

May God continue to keep you close during this very difficult time.

To read of her accomplishments is enough to sadden one to have not met such an extraordinary human being.

I am honored to have had the opportunity to work with Gale. She was a wonderful person, who cared about the people and taught us how to fight for our rights. I am deeply saddened by her death. My sincere sympathy on behalf of me and my family.

I did not know Ms.Cincotta, but I want to give my condolences to her famiy and may the lord be with them as they deal with the pain of lossing a love one.

In the community of housing activism, Gale never let us forget what it was all about. Every word she spoke, every stand she made, shook us from complacency and kick out from under us any self-satisfaction we may have been tempted to rest upon. She never took her eyes off who really mattered--the Americans whose rights to safe, decent and affordable housing have not yet been honored--and never allowed us to look away. God bless her, her family, her memory and all whom she inspired.

May the family take comfort in God's love and in knowing that your dearly departed in now resting in His bosom.

Gale Cincotta's presence holds a sacred part in my life. Her guts, her courage, her sense of humor and laughter filled my spirit with possibilities and hope. She is a mitzvah (blessing)to all who knew her. May God bless and grace the Cincotta family this day.

It is the strangest thing. That very day she died, I happened to be walking by NTIC with my baby son and looked in toward her desk by the northeast corner. I'm glad my son got a chance to see where a great woman worked.
