Adolph Miller Obituary

Adolph Miller was a good landlord and an exemplary Christian role model. His life and example inspire me to be a better Christian. In fact, I found it hard to even imagine him committing a sin. Funerals are usually very sad, but at his I felt upbeat because of I knew he was at home with the Lord. In fact, his funeral was one of the most inspirational Christian experiences I've ever had. He was a great man as well as a good man.

I was sad to hear about Adolph's passing. I am sorry I did not go to the visitation as I had an interview to go to. I know that Adolph is in good hands as he lived his life well. I was touched that Adolph, Thelma, and Paul all went to my dad's vistation last year in January and that you all remembered him . Sheila and I were out at dad's grave recently and told him that Adolph would be joining him in the hereafter. Maybe dad has a friend in Adolph he can talk to now. Sincerely, Jean Farris

Thelma - I doubt if you will remember me, but back in the early 80's I managed the Stop-N-Go store next door to the real estate office. I have many fond memories of working next door to Adolph for several years. When I got married, you gave me a roaster as a wedding gift. Every year when I prepare the turkey for our holiday feasts, I remember Adolph and his many acts of kindness to the "girl next door". You, Paul, and the rest of your family are in my prayers - may you find comfort in God's peace.

Dear Thelma, Paul and family,

I was saddend to read of Adolph's recent passing. Paul, and Shirley, you always greeted me with a smile and of course the "early days of DeKalb and NIU" Dad would talk of taking me down to the store when it was there and we lived on North First Street and little more than cornfields in those days -- having lost a parent and a spouse to that awful disease, I pray sincerely that some day, there will be a cure. I know in my heart of hearts, that my mother was a fighter, and Adolph was the same way, not giving up until God told him that it was time for him to "come home."

I know there is a lonesomeness after the death of a Parent, but I hope that the love and kind thoughts of your many friends will help make the grief a little easier to bear.
I respected and admired your Dad greatly! I will never forget his pleasant ways and how welcome he always made me feel when I would visit Miller Real Estate. I will always think of him with fondness.

We were so sorry to hear of Adolph's passing. We have so many fond memories of years growing up with your family and all of the church events that our parents shared with you, Adolph, and all the kids. The softball games, volleyball games, church picnics, etc.. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers and rest assured that Adolph is home now with his heavenly Father.

Adolph always gave the impression that he was enjoying himself, whether he was out in the community, at realtor functions, or working for the Republican party. I feel priviliged to have known him.

Dear Thelma and Paul, very sorry to hear the news on Adolph. He was quite a guy. I'm sure the void left to fill will be a hard adjustment. Even though I had not seen him in a number of years, I always had a great deal of respect for the man.

My prayers are with the Miller family. When history looks back it will be recorded that Adolph Miller served this community well. He was a friend to those in need and an inspiration to all who knew him.

We have lost a wonderful person and friend. I knew Adolph for a long time. I went to the grocery store and interviewed with him when I became a Realtor. He was a great inspiration to alot of people. He will be greatly missed.

My heart goes out to the family of Adolph. He will be greatly missed by all. He is in a better place now and free from pain. I worked with Adolph for 11 years and he was nothing but pleasant to me. All my sympathy.
