Adela was a sweet, hardworking and devoted mother who saw to it that her children were not only well educated, but also rose to the very top. I attended college with her oldest, Adela Cepeda at Harvard and was invited to the family home for Thanksgiving (my own home was too far). Mrs. Cepeda welcomed me and a couple of other girls with open arms. She captured the true immigrant spirit of working five times as hard as others. She continued to work until the very end and loved each of her children and grandchildren very much.
I am grateful to Mrs. Cepeda and her children. My heart goes out to them during this most difficult time. I would be honored to give to a cause close to Mrs. Cepeda's heart. Best, Eva Plaza.
