I got to know Bill personally through playing with him in the Blarney Bunch over the past 10 years or so. Always enjoyed talking to him and appreciated his musicianship . I had seen the Auslanders perform for many years and knew they enjoyed performing and entertaining the crowd. They were an institution in WNY. I extend my condolences for your loss and our loss as Bill made the world a better place.

Dear Heather,

My deepest condolences to you, your mom and your family for the loss of your dad. He was always so much fun at the Father/Daughter dances at Villa.

Sincerely,
Kristin

Back in 2016, I ran an Ad for a drummer on Craigslist who was interested in playing 60´s music in a band. Low and behold I received a multi paragraph email from Bill detailing why he would be a perfect fit for our 3 piece band. I couldn´t say no. Bill showed up for a rehearsal and immediately connected with myself and fellow musician Scott. We practiced once a week for about a month and Bill was in heaven with the 60´s music we were playing. Shortly thereafter he informed us that maybe he had "taken on too much" as he still was playing with his Auslander band and another Choral Group. Sadly it was a short lived friendship brought together by a love for music. I kept in touch with Bill via email occasionally but never saw him again. I am so sorry to read of his passing today. My lasting memory of Bill will not be his musical talents on drums but his warm friendly personality that connected with me. He just loved to talk about his days growing up on the East side and being a fellow Polski I loved to listen to his stories. Hardly knew him, but will deeply miss him. My condolences to his family and those that really had the good fortune to know him longer than I.

Auf wiedersehn my friend. Bill was not only arguably the best drummer in WNY but more importantly a man of God. He is and will be missed by many.
